Robert Rauschenberg
Robert Rauschenberg (1925–2008) was a pivotal figure in postwar American art and is often described as a “bridge” between Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. Renowned for his Combine Paintings, he broke down the boundaries between art and life by integrating images, printed elements, found objects, and bodily gestures into a new visual language.
Rauschenberg’s practice extended across painting, installation, photography, and stage design, consistently engaging with the relationship between art and technology, and between human beings and the world. His cross-media experiments profoundly shaped artistic thought and form in the latter half of the twentieth century.
