Radial Sensation (2023) extends Yi’s exploration of nonhuman intelligence and the limits of perception. Resembling a mechanical organism made of optical fibers and metal, the work emits a breathing, pulsating light whose rhythmic motion evokes a resonance between life and machine.
Through technological materials and algorithmic behaviors that mimic sensory processes, Yi establishes a circulating field of energy between the installation, the viewer, and the surrounding space. The work functions both as a figuration of artificial life and as a speculative experiment on perception, technology, and emotional cohabitation.
